Armscor ammo problems.

Finally took my IBM M1 carbine out to shoot today. Used Armscor ammo. The rifle would jam every few rounds. What is weird is that the last mag, the gun ran beautifully without any problem. I actually replaced the ejector before so I don't think it's the ejector's problem. So I am wondering if the problem is the Armscor ammo.I've been running my LCPII with different kinds of ammo (WWB and Underwood mostly) w/ absolutely no problems for 6 months and around 600 rounds. Both guns shoot 1/2 MOA groups at 50yds with the right amm, this ammo shoots closer to 1 MOA If you could find it under $3 a box and like to shoot tin cans then this is your go to ammo. I've found that Armscor 38 Special primers are a little harder than other sorts of ammo. They don't ignite 100% of the time in a few of my revolvers on the first strike while shooting double-action. But this many in a row signals a potentially bad batch.

In the instance here, the diameter and weight are correct for the .30 Carbine - but the bullet has the wrong profile. They can be made to work, but the bullet will have to be more deeply seated. This will create higher pressures - yet another problem. Best solution is to stick with the original design.

Being a bit shorter they cause problems in the G3, a Grand Power K100, Springflied XDM. All of them in 9mm. The only 2 brands of ammo my G3 doesn't like are the Nosler and Armscor JHP, the latter of which I only purchased for testing reliability with different types of ammo.I bought three bricks of the Armscor ammo during the "shortage," marked .22 LR, 36gr, high velocity, hollow point. Have you measured any of the Armscor ammunition? If the overall length falls within the SAAMI specification (25.4 - 29.69 mm), the problem may be that your pistol has a short chamber or insufficient leade.

I think in previous years Armscor ammo was a lot more iffy, but in recent years they've taken pains to improve quality, and I think the move to the USA was responsible for much of that. Conrad.
