Jul 19, 2015 · To rekey your SmartKey lock follow these steps: 1) Make sure your door is open so you don't get locked out. 2) Insert Key A completely into the plug. 3) Rotate Key A 90 degrees clockwise to the three o'clock position. 4) Insert the tip of the Learn Tool into the rekeying slot, which will now be horizontal. 1. Manually put the bolt in the extended (lock) position. Press the PROGRAM button once, enter your new 4 - 8 digit code and then press the LOCK button. 2. Press the PROGRAM button twice, enter the same or a new code and then press the LOCK button once. If your old code still remains in the unit, you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit.
