Yes I double checked to make sure that's where the sound is coming from. I already replaced the nylon bushings that are part of the clutch. 825i secondary clutch problem. I have a customer with a new 825i that we have replaced the secondary clutch on twice in less than 300 miles. It appears that the secondary opens up too far when run at full throttle/top speed and then the sheave starts to shed metal, which shreds the drive belt. Customer was running at full speed on dry …

Basically as the clutch warms up during operation friction increases within causing the clutch halves not to fully disengage.

Considering you only have the primary, secondary and belt. It is likely coming from one of the two clutches, so you got a 50% chance of getting it right the first time. I can hear the drive clutch click when it releases so I think it is releasing all the way. The new belt is the right part number. I read where the belt is directional so I made sure to mount it correctly. The new drive belt is 1 1/4 inches across the top which it should be. The old belt was worn to 1 1/8 inches.
