I have read accounts of the older P365 pistols going through thousands of rounds without issues. The problem could be as simple as a weak spring. The flat faces forward in the closed position. The rear end of the guide rod rests on the takedown lever (or pin). This requires the guide rod to protrude at the muzzle by about 3/16" or the difference between flat up and flat forward. If the guide rod is stuck at the muzzle the slide will stop about where your pic shows.I wish Sig would engineer a recessed floorplate for the 12 round P365 magazine especially at the price of $49.99. There were no issues with the first 500 rounds, half of which were SIG 365 FMJ purchased from the range. The next 100 rounds of 365 FMJ, purchased directly from Sig, had 24 FTF.
