The 3 options you have are: keep all the gold for yourself = 1000 gold reward and a minor reputation hit with the faction you are running the Vault raid with (about ~15-20% or so of the faction bar will attrition). With this option you get the max gold possible, and can still be "cooperative" with your chosen faction.

The reputation you earn from either side is more precious than the gold. Gold can be earned daily, but the final grind for reputation is a long and the amount of rep you get from the daily quests is minuscule. I recommend siding with the Foundation first. The Gauss Shotgun is a lot of fun for shooting common enemies.
There is only one way: Finish the questline. Which in itself requires to be Level 20, meet the Overseer (zero requirements for that, but at Level 20 you get a radio signal), finish "Ounce of Prevention", then tackle the entire Wastelander questline.
