Charles Daly makes semiauto shotties for reasonably cheap. I picked one up at a gun store near my house, and seemed pretty light-weight and cheap (as in low quality). I've never heard anything bad about them ... After putting the Charles Daly through its review, the answer to that question is, “Yes. It’s both pretty and can do its job.” Our test gun had an overall length of 45 inches, with 28-inch, polished blue barrels. This 601 Charles Daly is the second one I have owned. The first one was purchased about 25 years ago. It still works like a new gun, but, after dragging it through the woods for 20 years it is in need of refurbishing. The 601 field model "for the money" Is an Excellent shotgun. It has a rubbed finish on the wood that I believe to be Turkish walnut.

Yes, the Miroku 500 is a gun of good quality. The Charles Daly Miroku guns are good. My hunting buddy had a Miroku 500 in 12 gauge. Nice gun. I doubt you will find a better 20 gauge in the same price range. Parts might be a problem if it breaks. But there is little chance of that if it is treated right.

It's a pretty plain and simple gun that's why I liked it. I think maybe a sort of shotgun a French or Italian farmer might've bought in a hardware store about 50 years ago.
