Switched to the same synthetic but 5w30 and the oil consumption dropped to less than a half quart in 3500 - 4000 miles. 50K miles on the engine. Thus, for the next 3000 miles we had to take the vehicle to the dealership every 1000 miles so they could check the oil consumption. By the time the 3rd study was done, the Palisade was burning 1 quart of oil every 475 miles!!! It was so bad that the oil-laden exhaust was visible in the exhaust.
