This what I used on my first XDm 5.25 front sight. I also made a fat shim of Trex decking to keep the slide from rotating in the pusher frame, and I put brass shim stock between the pusher and the frame to take up the heinous amount of slop. I used a ratchet on the first one. Dont think this has been posted in the news section, might have been mentioned in other threads; They are currently making steel slides for the WE XDM in black, 4.5 and 3.8. I e-mailed them and asked and they do plan to release stainless steel ones in the future (asked them for more specific date...There is pretty much no way to hold the XDM Elite and not have it engaged. But the second big one is with reloads. To rack the slide on an XDM, the grip safety must be engaged. Rarely, but it has happened, with a normal XDM I have tried to rack the slide in reload grip, the gun turned 90 degrees in my hand, to find the slide wouldn’t move.

Most of the mass on a XDM is in the slide. I'm trying to get that reciprocating mass down a little. Like it a lot. I did put polish on both ramps amd worked the release button back and forth for about 5 minutes. Cleaned the polish off all parts and it's like butter now. Tighter slide to frame tolerances would definitely be a plus ( mine would be going on a 4.5 xdm open gun so the lighter the better).Has anybody heard of a replacement slide assembly being offered? I own an XDm .40 and have pondered the .40=>9mm conversion, but would be interested in a complete slide to avoid the reliability issues associated with the conversion.
