You'll only need enough to cover your shift - if it's 9 hours with a lunch scheduled, you'll use 8 hours.It doesn't matter if it's a key date or not. If you call off and miss 8 hours, for example, on a key date and incur 2 occurrences, you only need to use 8 hours of PPTO to get those 2 occurrences removed by the system...no management approval is involved.
