Use a quality JHP that is LE proven from a major manufacturer that works well for you and your pistol. I favor the 147gr and carry the standard pressure Federal HST.

147gr would be ideal. 124 +P tends to over expand, even out of short barrels, limiting its penetration depth. 147gr will penetrate deeper because of its mass. +P just makes it recoil harder, don't bother.
