Glenfield 30a vs marlin 336.

I have a Glenfield model 30, 30A, and 30GT, to go along with a 336 in .35 cal., and a Model 39 Mountie. Its been said the Glennies shoot more accurately than the 336's because of the fore arm end cap. I can't speak to that really, but they have turned me into a Marlin fan. Don't know what it is, but when I hold my Glenfield, it just feels more sturdy than my new 336. What is the general consensus about the durability of the older Marlin leverguns vs. the current stock? Are the new ones built just as good as the old ones?

Geensled, The only difference in the 30AS and the 336 is the wood and the sights. The 30AS has a birch stock, carbine style front sight, and I believe a stamped sheetmeatal style rear with the sliding elevator. In regards to front sight on a 30A (S), going to a 3/8 wide dovetail is a perfect fit to the barrel compared to the too wide 1/2" dovetail stock one.
