It’s the same ride as Valravn, just slightly shorter and minus one inversion. I think the dive under the bridge and the water effect make Griffon win for me on aesthetic alone. I get why Cedar Point wanted a dive machine but they should have done something unique with it, not just a slightly larger version of a 10-year old coaster.

The fastest roller coaster in any Busch Gardens location is the Griffon located in the Williamsburg theme park. Like the SheiKra, the Griffon is a crazy-fast Dive Coaster, however, Williamsburg’s rendition goes slightly faster at 75 mph. It additionally contains two Immelmann loops, a splashdown, and two verticle drops.This is me and Ryan riding the Griffon at Busch Gardens - Front Row!!!!! You gotta love that drop!Grew up right next to this thing. An absolute joy to ride and even better to see. There's a lot of people who consider this a "parking lot" coaster, but I couldn't disagree more. It hugs the terrain in that famous BGW way while creating a unique experience for the area. Absolutely love this coaster.

Sheikra at Busch Gardens Tampa is one of my top-five favorite coasters. I knew I’d likely enjoy its younger sybling just as much. Griffon was also my 100th “coaster credit,” so for that it will always have a special place in my coaster-loving heart. The coaster experience wasn’t that drastically different from Sheikra’s.
