You can hand polish from 80 grit sandpaper to 800, and then aluminum oxide polish! But I tumbled it with other petoskey stones for three days in 60/90 grit. I then tumbled it for 24 hours in 120/220 grit (I put ceramic media in the barrel for both tumble phases.)
