Overall, long blunt and axe will be (in my opinion) your general best bet. As u/Fortune_Silver mentioned, Long blades are strong but rare, and spears have a severe lack of durability for a long time. Short weapon types are generally too weak to serve as anything except a backup weapon, or unless you don't want to damage your strong weapons ... as for an smg, a kriss vector would be a decent choice. it's one of the few guns you can actually use in full auto in short bursts, thanks to it's negligible time to steady. the fire rate is a nice bonus as well.
