With Arkos sometimes a crash would boot to a black screen and not recover until I booted with a Jelos SD card. Fucking weird. I even tried that blind screen brightness change trick and shone a torch at the screen to view it, but it to no avail After an Arkos crash to black 10 mins into an all day trip I just stuck with Jelos.

With ArkOS I recommend Duckstation for PSX so you can change the disk read speed to speed up load times and most games are stable in my experience. This didn't work for me in the JELOS menus for some reason, but it did work when RetroArch was open. If you're having trouble clicking both at the exact same time, try depressing one stick and keeping it depressed while you click the other. I haven't tried ArkOS but according to this FAQ the hotkey for muting/unmuting should be the same as JELOS.

I was considering trying ArkOS but thought I’d give a factory reset a go first. So far it seems to have fixed the issue. My device is still running the latest version of JELOS after the reset but the sound is working as expected now. I have no idea if this will introduce other problems but so far everything seems ok. 1.
